An air scoop right in the center of the fairing is standard on sport bikes now because this gets you the best/most air to the air box. This bike does not have a ram system, this scoop is just bringing cool air to the air box.
A few improvements: At the front, I removed the grill, cut away the lip and made a ramp before the inside step using foam. The next step will be to connect the scoop to the fairing. At the air box, I used 1/16 inch sheet aluminum and Velcro to fill in the passage for the throttle cable. Now, all the cool air goes right to the air box intake. Factory Pro sells a nice jet kit for this bike.
